My motto:
Art is not imposing creativity
on a world already
overflowing
with beauty and color,
but
chiming the tone of your soul
and
finding resonance in
those touched by the sound.

Judith Dawson
Judith began painting in 1995 whilst living in Cascais near Lisbon in Portugal. Inspired by the colours and images of this beautiful country she embarked on a traditional tile painting course.
On returning to UK she set up her own ceramic business Ceramicart.co.uk. After 3 years of selling her art work through Galleries, Craft Fairs and via the internet the family relocated to North East England.
CeramicArt no longer exists but her passion for painting continued and matured into her new current collection of art work - painting with acrylics on canvas.
Complimenting this, Judith is currently studying for a BA Degree in Fine Art at Sunderland University.
I am now working with all types of media including photography, sculpture, printmaking, oils, water colour as well as acrylics. Watch this space! |

Born in Colorado, my husband and I have filled our lives pleasurably with travel. Europe has been our second home for many years, particularly East Anglia, U.K.. Books have been my constant friends, as well as Internet cafes.
Most of my cards are created from photographs taken during our travels. Others are forms of mixed media, collage, and drawing. Have fun, dream along with me, and thank you for stopping by. |

I started to mess around with art when I were just a bairn …. I think the first ‘real’ attempt at anything with shape and form was a caricature of Margret Thatcher (why?!), which I did at the tender age of around seven. From what I recall, it wasn’t particularly good. Art became one of my favourite subjects throughout school and my passion continued for it long after I left. I even sold a few works around Essex for a bit of extra pocket money.
Oddly enough, I was refused entry into Colchester Institute on the grounds that my attempts at art were too ‘poppy’ ... well, there you go. I stuck my fingers up to the pompous art establishment of then .. pah! What did they know?
‘Twas then, my other childhood passion – archaeology (pre-Indiana Jones, I’ll have you know) – took over. Art always remained a bit of a passion, and I became involved in several archaeological illustration projects, as well as doing the field work, which enabled me to keep a hand in. The illustration was more technical and less expressive, but I enjoyed it a lot.
Photography has kind of grown on me, and moreso recently, though as kid I used to go nuts with my cheap Boots instant camera. It was rubbish really, and pretty much most of the pics I took with it were too … but I enjoyed it for what it was.
Now, I’m in Japan, teaching English for the time being, and art and photography have become a little more ‘important’ to me again.
Anyway, I hope you find some of my photos and simple paintings resonate with you and lift your spirits. If you choose to purchase any cards I would be most grateful. Otherwise, please just enjoy the photos!
Thanks for taking a look.
Best wishes,
J |

I can't remember a time when I didn't want to be an artist. From the time I got my first set of crayons I was hooked. I received my degree in graphic design from the University of North Florida and worked in the graphics field for years. I later dabbled in many different industries while raising my 3 children. Even though I put my art career on hold while raising my boys, the desire to create was always there. In the past 6 years have rekindled the passion for painting that I had as a child. I find so much joy in painting and sharing my art with others. I consider it a blessing to humbly portray my creations of God's beautiful world. I pray that others can see Him through my work. |

I have been creative for as long I can remember and made my career as a draughtswoman, until that stopped to raise my two boys.
I returned to painting around 5 years ago, and fell in love with watercolours, and apart from a few workshops am mainly self- taught. Painting took a back seat for a while after I started to take my own reference photos, and rapidly became absorbed in photography.
But my pencil and watercolour brush are now once again as busy as my camera..I am also exploring acrylics and pastels. My choices of subjects are as broad as my choice of media…..
I will never stop exploring ways to express my creativity but Watercolour is definitely my first love. It’s so unpredictable, sometimes uncontrollable, which make for the excitement of it for me…....
