I have been painting and drawing ever since I could hold a pencil and paintbrush. A talent that was nurtured by my parents and that I keep using in their memory.
I went to school for photography and spent some time as a black and white/color printer then later moved on to become a photographer's assistant. I have worked doing store displays, as a stylist on photo sets, a graphic designer designing catalogs, brochures and packaging for many different companies.
I have always been inspired by nature, statues and primitive arts and of course all of the cats that have left paw prints in my life. |

Hello :) ,
I first became interested in art, at the tender age of six when introduced to hand painting! It was great fun. I decided that this, although a naive attempt, filled my young world with new and exciting possibilities. I studied art from a young age as my family were artistic selling pictures from galleries and commission work. So there was always work to reference in my development as an artist.
The main format that I use is digital. This has allowed me to explore life as an artist in digital form. It is proving to be very interesting and illuminating as to what can be achieved when modern mediums are mixed with traditional methods. I enjoy figurative and more modern approaches to artistic expression.
I hope you enjoy at least some of the pieces I present to you, and maybe even leave a comment.

I think I've been an artist all of my life and just didn't know it. I've done all sorts of art; mosaic, art quilts, card making, stamping, gardening. But it wasn't until I started painting that people said I was an artist. I guess I never considered myself one either until I put paint to canvas. Now I'm hooked and I can't stop. For me, art is a form of communication, a conduit for expression. I believe that it should touch some part of you and make you FEEL something. I hope my art bring a smile to your face. Enjoy! |

Since then, my work has been shown in 9 juried competitions, and I've had 2 solo exhibitions. Two of my photographs have received Awards of Excellence from Serbin Communications. My photographs have also been published in "The Best of Photography Annual 2006" and "The Best of Photography Annual 2007" from the publishers of Photographer's Forum magazine. |
